SEI Capabiltiy Maturity Model for Software (i.e., SW-CMM model) Version 1.1

Workshop Description:

This workshop is designed to address the concerns of those wishing to apply the SEI SW-CMM Version 1.1 model within their software organization.

Learn the background, purpose, scope and benefits of this model.  The Key Process Areas of all 5 levels are discussed with special attention given to level 2 and 3.

The process of obtaining official certification is also described including guidance on how to choose the right assessor/evaluator.

Workshop Goals:

1. Learn the basic concepts and structure of the SEI SW-CMM model.
2. Understand the intent of the CMM Key Process Areas.
3. Examine Level 2 and Level 3 requirements and debate potential solutions.
4. Discover common pitfalls and how to avoid them.
5. Discuss the model's application for small and large projects/organizations.
6. Examine the continuing SEI SW-CMM developments including ISO 15504 (SPICE) implications.
