Workshop Description:

Software Quality Assurance (SQA) is differentiated from testing due to its managerial/service focus versus the technical focus of testing. SQA is about ensuring the right promises are made (with customers, clients, and management) and that these promises are kept.

This workshop promotes today's modern collaboration approach to SQA which includes a discussion on "best practices" to ensure the quality of the software products, services and process.

Learn how creating and managing the right processes and activities together with high caliber and committed SQA at both the project and organizational level leads to effective outcomes that can really make the difference for your company. Particular attention is paid to the application of SQA on varying size projects. Various methods for meeting the SQA requirements of ISO 9001/9000-3, ISO 15504 (SPICE), and SEI SW-CMM Level 2; are discussed.

Workshop Goals:

 
1. Learn how to structure an SQA organization to suit business and project requirements.
2. Discover methods for managing the SQA life cycle.
3. Identify the basic SQA value of the various standards and models including ISO 9001, SEI SW-CMM , ISO 15504 (SPICE), ISO 12207, and IEEE.
4. Examine various Software Life Cycle models to determine the most profitable points for the insertion of SQA.
5. Obtain knowledge on how to evaluate and select effective processes and activities to achieve quality products and services.
6. Learn how to develop an appropriate SQA plan for small, medium and large projects.
